![]() ![]() It's these instrumentals that lead me on the path of ruin.Wanderley to Zappa and Sun Ra.A buddy of mine played a home Wurlitzer organ when this was a hit,so I've probably heard the song and the hit thousands of times. While we were also discovering the souljazz of Jimmy Smith,Groove Holmes and Brother Jack McDuff, we found room for Wanderley.Fast forward thirty years and while Polygram excavated the Verve vault(completely ignoring the A&M/CTI holdings, also produced by Creed Taylor and much of that recorded by RVG),it took Scamp/Caroline to license this stuff for the powers that be to wake up and bring more of this era out in the '90s.Polygram put out 60 artists comps while celebrating Verve's 50th anniversary in the mid '90s,but Wanderley never made the cut. Music To Watch Girls By - The Bob Crewe Generation Theme From A Summer Place - Percy FaithĢ7. Canadian Sunset - Hugo Winterhalter (With Eddie Heywood)Ģ6. Summer Samba (So Nice) - Walter WandereleyĢ5. A Walk In The Black Forest - Horst Jankowskiġ6. Sounds great and has a very good booklet.ġ3. I'd post the cover picture but my PC is running so slow it's a pain to get the picture to Photo bucket and then transfer it here. All these instrumental are buried in the memories of all the people here of a certain age. This comp is just great also.
